Celebrities Continue to Join the Electronic Cigarette Trend

What do the following celebrities have in common; Cheryl Cole, Robbie Williams, Simon Cowell and One Direction’s Zayn Malik? Bland music? Huge bank accounts? Paparazzi following them everywhere? All of those things are certainly true, but the other common denominator amongst these stars is that they have all become converts to the electronic cigarette.

We’ve already covered Simon Cowell’s switch to electronic cigarettes within this blog, and it seems an increasing number of celebs are following the media mogul when it comes to ditching old-school cigarettes. For everyone from musicians to models, actors to actresses, it seems the future of smoking is very much electric.

The Muse drummer Dominic Howard attracted criticism from former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher when he was seen using an electronic cigarette at this year’s Brit Awards, suggesting that they just weren’t cool. But given that amongst the latest batch of celebs to be spotted using an e cigarette are the always on-trend Alexa Chung and the über-cool Johnny Depp, perhaps perceptions of the electronic cigarette are finally changing.

Across the pond electronic cigarettes continue to enjoy quite a high profile amongst celebrities with star of the Twilight series Robert Pattinson the latest A-Lister to be seen using one of the devices. R-Patz is far from alone too with socialites and gossip-column favourites Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan also known electronic cigarette users. Hopefully, the continued exposure of electronic cigarette use amongst celebrities will encourage other long-time cigarette smokers to try the electronic smoking alternative.
