Snetterton Better Than Ever Before
There was delight in the Team E-Lites Kawasaki grid on Sunday as a determined Tim Hastings landed his first podium of the season at a sunny Snetterton circuit. Tim was able to push the bike to the max after successful surgery on his arm in the last few weeks, and his speed in the corners was unrivaled.
The sprint race on Saturday saw Tim take fifth spot, before he upped his performance on the Sunday and stood proudly on the third step of the podium. Last year, the Norfolk circuit was a horror show for the team, as a poor qualifying and a non-finish saw them walk away with nothing. Fortunes turned this year, and the smiles on the faces of the team members went all the way up the A47.
Tim even ran as high as second until the final lap, where he was pipped to the post by just six-hundredths of a second – roughly the same length of time as half a blink! Tim’s pessimism at Oulton Park was replaced with sheer drive, self-belief and fortitude, and it’s great to see him back racing at full strength.
Next up for Tim is Knockhill – his “home” circuit in Scotland. Last year’s race was ended early, but he’s got the confidence and the power to impress in front of his home crowd this time round.
