Sponsorship Update Nov 2013
The football season is in full swing, and with a number of E-Lites partners involved this weekend, we thought we’d provide an update into our clubs in action.
Celtic remained unbeaten in the Scottish Premier League, but it took an injury-time equaliser to deny Dundee United a win in Glasgow. Charlie Mulgrew’s third goal of the season ensured Celtic stayed unbeaten in their first eleven games for the first time since 2003.
Rangers weren’t in league action at the weekend having played in the Scottish Cup on Friday night. Jon Daly scored two in five minutes to help set up a 3-0 win over Airdrieonians to take Rangers into the fourth round of the cup. It’s now 14 consecutive wins for Rangers in all competitions.
Derby County put in a brave display against promotion favourites Queens Park Rangers but fell to a 2-1 defeat at Loftus Road. The Rams’ Simon Dawkins cancelled out an early QPR lead but could not respond a second time after Clint Hill put QPR ahead in the second half. It’s Steve McLaren’s first defeat as Derby’s manager.
Nottingham Forest Ladies put four past bottom-of-the-table Wolverhampton Wanderers and kept hold of their spot at the top of the Ladies Northern Division. Two goals each from Stephanie Smith and Amber Hughes kept their unbeaten run intact.
Worcester Warriors’ difficult start to the Aviva Premiership season continues with a 21-6 home defeat to Bath. Paul Warwick kicked all of Worcester’s points and despite a gutsy second half display, they couldn’t break down the Bath defence and still sit bottom of the table.
Don’t forget that E-Lites are available from many of our partners above, and also at the O2 in London, where feedback from concert-goers has been very positive. You can see all O2 events here.
