Smoking Ban In Cars - The E-Lites Solution

Smoking Ban in CarsAll smoking in cars should be banned across the UK to protect people from second-hand smoke, according to the British Medical Association, who have called for an extension of the current ban on smoking in public places to include a smoking ban in cars, after reviewing evidence of the dangers.

The BMA highlighted research showing the levels of toxins in a car can be up to 23 times higher than in a smoky bar and this is because there is nowhere for the smoke to escape, even having the window open makes little effect as the wind actually pushes the toxic smoke back into the car.

A multi-party parliamentary group on Smoking and Health issues suggested that an immediate ban could be "counterproductive" as consensus needed to be built across society before taking such as step. The MPs also believe that more could be achieved by raising awareness about the dangers through education campaigns. It pointed out that policing a smoking ban in cars could be extremely difficult.

It was also reported in August that the Welsh Assembly is considering banning cigarette smoking in cars with children in. This would force a shift in lifestyle for many parents who smoke in cars with their children trapped with the cigarette smoke. Therefore it is likely any smoking ban in cars will be targeted at adults smoking near children, rather than a blanket smoking ban. However, smoking in company cars is already banned, as the car is considered a public place.

Smoking Ban in Cars could be implemented

Industry experts believe electronic cigarettes will be the perfect solution to the ban on in car smoking, with the three main reasons being; 'smoking' electronic cigarettes in public places is legal, the financial saving with e-cigarettes is significant and e-cigs pose no danger to your health, or others, with no tar, or carcinogens passed on via passive smoking. So the advice is to use E-Lites electronic cigarettes to avoid the smoking ban in cars.
